Being from Toronto I am, of course, a Blue Jay fan although the past 2 or 3 years it is almost like being a Maple Leaf fan in the NHL. They seem to start the season really well and then they just die. Management coninues to say that they are rebuilding the organization but they have been saying that since 1995. How long does it take to rebuild to the point of at least becoming a contender? Sometimes I get really frustrated because they almost seem to be a farm team for the rest of the league. They get young players, teach them how to bat properly and pitch well and then when they get really good at the game, they leave to go to another team. Some examples are Robbie Alomar, Tony Fernandes, Carlos Delgado and most recently Scott Roland. Next I suppose they will let Marco Scutaro and Rod Barajas go, along with Roy Halliday.

Being from Ontario, (Midland), I also like the Jays but I have to agree with you SlapHappy, the last few seasons the Jays have really been a disappointment. They seem to get a good lead in a game and then their game comes apart. They also seem to make a fair number of errors on the field. Other than Roy Halliday, their pitching staff have not been very consistent. Some of them can have a really great game and then pitch like amateurs in the next 2 or 3 outings. Maybe if the owners would spend some bucks to aquire some good experienced players, some day they may become a contender

Ya, I agree about the Jays staff needing to spend some money and get some good players if they want to win a pennant otherwise they will spend the rest of their lives "rebuilding". :(
What do you guys think of the Jays firing J.P. Ricciardi? I thought I aslo heard some rumblings about Cito Gaston as well.
