Default I enjoy boxing and watching Klitschko

I'm a boxing fan and watch it whenever I can. I enjoy watching Vitali Klitschko fight and I was a big fan of Arturo Gatti until he retired. They are saying he hung himself in his room but something doesn't seem right there. Gatti was a fighter who would never give up no matter what. It seems out of character for him to give up on life, and while I understand his wife was in the room at the time, she didn't know he was hanging himself? I find that Odd!

Floyd Mayweather is a great fighter but I don't really care for him. He is too full of himself and likes to brag a little too much for my liking.

I enjoy boxing but I think I enjoyed some of the older boxers more than some of those fighting today. There are certainly some good boxers today but I really enjoyed watching guys like Alexis Arguello, Sugar Ray Robinson, Ken Norton, Sugar Ray Leonard and Marvin Hagler. My favourite is definately Alexis Arguello. He had an 82-8 record and I was fortunate enough to have watched what is rated as one of the best matches in the history of boxing, Alexis Arguello vs Aaron Pryor. Unfortunately Pryor knocked Arguello out in the 14th round of a 15 round fight. There was a lot of contraversy after the fight with some people saying that Pryor had his water bottle laced with a mixture of orange juice, honey, and cocaine. The Florida State Boxing Commission failed to administer a post-fight urine test and it was never proven that the bottle contained an unsanctioned substance, but regardless, dubbed as the "Battle of the Champions" it was one of the biggest wars in boxing history.

Argello was found dead, as a result of a gunshot wound, in his home July 1, 2009. It was ruled a suicide but many believe otherwise. They point to the fact that he was shot in the chest and suggest that if he wanted to commit suicide he would have put the gun to his head like most other people who commit suicide by shooting themselves. On July 1st, 2009 the flags at the Boxing Hall of Fame, of which Arguello is a member, flew at half mast in his honour. Boxing lost a great fighter.

Wow! It seems like a few boxers have been shot. I am not familiar with Alexis Arguello but he must have been pretty good with a 82-8 record. I am not familiar with Aaron Pryor either but he must have been pretty good too.

I should look up a few of these older boxers and get to know something about them. It might be interesting to compare them with some of today's fighters.

I enjoy watching boxing too. I don't get to see it a lot but I enjoy it whenever I do get the chance to watch it.

Maybe I should add a forum with articles on some of the boxers both old and new.
